There’s something pretty special about working alongside the same people for 10, 15, even 20+ years.
At Bigfish, we don’t take that for granted.
From the beginning, Sheldon has been incredibly selective about the people who join Bigfish. Of course, talent matters, but it has never been just about finding the best designer, developer or strategist. It’s about finding people who connect with how we think, how we do things and, importantly, with each other.
The hope has always been that when the right people find their way to Bigfish, they find a place they want to stay.
And many of us have.
Over the years, we’ve built a culture that gives people the freedom to find their strengths, back themselves, grow and carve out their own place within Bigfish. We don’t all think the same way, and we certainly don’t approach things the same way, but that’s part of what makes Bigfish what it is.
Across design, development, strategy and management, we come together as one team. There’s an enormous amount of trust in each other’s ability, respect for what everyone brings to the table and a genuine desire to see each other succeed.
That longevity has become one of our greatest strengths.
When you’ve worked alongside someone for a decade or two, there’s an understanding that’s hard to manufacture. You know how each other thinks. You know when to challenge each other. You know when to trust someone and let them run with an idea.
And importantly, all of that history and knowledge stays within Bigfish.
We see the value of that in our client relationships too.
Some of our longest client relationships have grown alongside our team over many years. We know their businesses, their people, their history and the thinking behind decisions made years ago. We’ve been there through changes, growth, challenges and new directions.
That depth of understanding makes a difference to the work we do today.
For us, culture isn’t really something we’ve ever tried to manufacture or put into a set of values on a wall. It has grown from the people who are here, the relationships we’ve built and the freedom we’ve been given to find our own way.
We’re incredibly proud of the work that has come out of Bigfish over more than 30+ years.
But we’re even more proud of the people who have made it possible.
