About
Comprising news, initiatives, breakthroughs and research, the Great Barrier Reef Foundation had a wealth of content they needed to make available online. We worked with the team to construct a content strategy and intuitive website structure that made information simpler to find.
The design balances full colour imagery with ample white space, allowing stunning reef photography to stand out. Photography was thoughtfully chosen to give context to written content, and provide an element of visual interest to links and tiles.
Mapping the Reef
Using Google's existing mapping of the Great Barrier Reef, we were able to map GBRF's research project locations along with key areas of the Reef. Google's street view imagery allowed users to dive in and explore these previously inaccessible areas. The map provided a vital perspective of the scale of the Reef and its importance to the surrounding environment.
